125 years ago physie didn’t exist. Think about every competition, every trophy, every position, every class, every team, every physie moment that has been…
And yet, how many people have never heard of this sport?
The story of Physie needs to be told! The timing couldn’t be better for this film to hit the screens with the 125th anniversary celebrations coming in 2017!

Will you help to make this possible?
Director and documentary film editor, Hilary Balmond, producer Merran Lang of Looking Glass Pictures along with professional cinematographer, Justine Kerrigan, are the amazing ladies investing their time and effort to create this film. “Champion Girls The Movie” will become a reality if, over the next 6 days, the target of $70,000 is raised through crowdfunding. A significant amount of this has been pledged already but this cannot be received unless the total sum of the target is reached by 6pm this coming Friday, December 9, 2016. (Keep daylight savings in mind, Queenslanders).
Can you imagine the growth Physie would see if this film is created? Can you imagine how amazing it would be to be able to share this documentary with our children and grandchildren?
Thinking Outside The Box
If you feel you have little to offer, why not take up a donation from your club. If 20 people donate just $10 we have a donation of $200! Even $5 each is going to add up quickly! Teachers, could you donate a term’s fees free to the club member who donates the most? You could even add all the names of those who donate to a random name generator to select a winner! To keep things simple, have members donate directly to pozible and let you know they have donated. The winner will need to provide a receipt of their donation to receive the prize. (Teachers, please see Toowoomba Physie’s facebook page for wording on how to run this competition and add terms and conditions. This doubles as wonderful advertising!)
Will you be purchasing a thank you gift for your teacher this week? Or is there a physie lady in your life who would appreciate the value of a gift certificate showing they have contributed to this project? The option to download and print a gift certificate is made available when you donate even $15!
One clever lady offered to donate the proceeds of a leotard she was selling online. Could you list your secondhand leotards today with the same offer? If you know you will need a leotard next year, could you consider purchasing a leotard for your daughter now instead of next year? Second hand leotards are perfect to wear to class! Stock up for the new year now!
Gold Coin Donation
With so many of us celebrating the end of the year at school, work and physie, why not place a donation box at your party and ask everyone to chip in a gold coin on their way in? Explain what it is for and spread the word!
Get The Kids Involved!
Get your young ones involved. How special for our daughters and granddaughters to be a part of this significant project. Even brothers of physie girls might be keen to help! If you have the time this is a great way to teach your children about giving and being a part of a wider community!
- Pocket Money
Encourage them to do a few jobs around the house for pocket money that they could donate. Wash the car, mow the lawns, clean the windows in time for Christmas!
- Lemonade Stand
One family were able to support their daughter to set up a lemonade stand in their neighbourhood! If holidays have begun this could be a great project to enjoy this week!
- Christmas Cards And Cookies
If your physie club is yet to have a break up party approach your teachers about allowing your daughter to set up handmade Christmas cards or Christmas cookies to sell.
You are likely reading this post because you have been a part of Physie’s rich history. And if you haven’t, well then, you are about to be. This history needs to be preserved! By contributing to this film’s production you are securing an important part of physie history. Even an important part of Australian history. It’s up to us!
