You have registered for your first physie class and are wondering what you need for class. It’s easy to get started with our list below.
Be sure to wear something comfortable that does not restrict your movement. Active wear such as leggings and a fitted top are ideal. Leotards are suitable also. Kmart, Target, Big W and Best’n’Less all stock affordable dance wear for children and active wear for teens and ladies. There are also a number of online dance wear stockists who regularly have sales. Shoes are not required in class. Some clubs may have a set uniform. Please see your clubs handbook to see if you are required to have a specific uniform.
2. Water Bottle
Bringing a generous sized water bottle to class is important so you can remain adequately hydrated throughout your class. Find a water bottle to suit you. There are many styles, sizes and colours available at a variety of stores. Be sure to name all of your property.
Add slices of lemon or squeeze a lemon into your water. It not only cleanse your digestive system but also boosts your immune system.
Please keep your hair secured during class. Find a headband, hair clip or hairband that is right for you!
3. Resistance Band
Although not essential, a resistance band is a small expense that will allow you to practice a number of stretches and exercises before class and at home throughout the week. Resistant bands come in a range of thicknesses. The thinner bands are easier to use while the thicker bands make stretches and exercises more challenging.
4. Exercise Mat
An exercise or yoga mat ensures a soft surface to stretch. During the winter months the floor can be cold. An exercise mat will offer comfort during this time.
5. Dance Bag
A dance bag can be used to hold your dance wear and accessories. This is especially practical for students coming to class straight from school. You can have your bag prepacked with afternoon tea as well as your drink bottle along with hair brush and hair ties and leotard. A dance bag will also come in handy for events throughout the year. Remember to name all your belongings just in case something is misplaced or left behind. Your teacher will ensure it gets back to you.
